FlatLighter
The light table that retired the fluorescent tube in illustration schools: LED and OLED in twelve millimetres.

A light table was a piece of furniture with a fluorescent tube inside, and it ran hot.
The traditional light table was a box: bulky, heavy, hot, flickering, and it spread light unevenly, with the tube printed across the middle of the paper. Nobody questioned it because it had been that way for decades. The turn was to look at a technology appearing in another industry, solid state lighting, and realise that an LED and an OLED panel do not need a box: they fit in twelve millimetres, with even light and no heat. That does not improve the light table, it turns it into something else.
Light source
The fluorescent tube replaced by LED and OLED, with even light across the whole surface and no hot spot.
Flat body
Twelve millimetres thick with an aluminium frame: it goes from furniture to an instrument you keep in a drawer.
Dimmable
Continuous control so you can work with different paper weights without burning out the line.
Market
Hundreds of units sold to illustration schools and universities, which is exactly where the old object hurt most.
