USA World Regions

IGCAT names world regions of gastronomy, and in the United States there was no structure able to put one forward. Rather than build a region, we built the umbrella that produces them.

The real problem

The brief was a website for one region. One region on its own is not a model, it is an anecdote.

First Coast had the story, had the candidacy and had five hundred years of culinary crossing to tell. What it did not have was structure: in the United States there was no body able to present a region to IGCAT, nor to run the operation once a candidacy turns into a programme. Building the First Coast site would have solved one year and left the whole problem for the next. So the first thing built was the layer above: an umbrella brand and a platform where First Coast is region number one rather than the only one. Everything done for it is already done for the second, and that changes what this project is: not a website, but a model that can be repeated in any region of the country.

What we built
01

The umbrella and the region

USA World Regions is the brand that faces the institutions, and First Coast is the first of its regions, with its own site and its own candidacy. The architecture lets each region have a voice without any of them having to invent the framework again, and lets the umbrella speak to IGCAT on behalf of all of them.

02

The public platform

A bilingual site with the sections a coalition needs rather than the ones a company needs: regions, academy, innovations, technology, a business area and news. Three separate front doors depending on who is knocking, because a restaurant that wants to join, a sales agent and a media team do not arrive the same way.

03

The back-office

Forty-three screens over eighty-six API endpoints. Leads, members, memberships, invoicing, projections, companies, events, media production, deliverables, objectives and audit. Fifty-eight of those endpoints work per region: the separation was not bolted on afterwards, it is built in.

04

Onboarding that signs itself

A sales agent signs up, supplies their paperwork, signs their contract on first login and from then on sees their progress and their commission. Without that circuit, every new joiner is three emails and a lost PDF. With it, the coalition can grow without the admin growing at the same rate.
